In 1946, Enrico Cappellini inaugurated a small workshop in Carugo, a town just a short distance from Como and Milan, specializing in the production of furniture “in style” rooted in the craftsmanship tradition of Brianza. Thirty years later, Giulio Cappellini joined his father’s company with the goal of bringing innovation and promoting the brand in the international market. Through a network of collaborations with renowned designers and artists, the Cappellini catalog now includes some of the most celebrated icons in the history of design.

The first encounter between Metea and Cappellini happens thanks to Tomoko Mizu, assistant to Shiro Kuramata, the visionary Japanese designer known for his mastery in using Plexiglas. In 2001, Mizu entrusts Metea with the production of her Flower Vases, capturing Cappellini's interest and giving rise to a collaboration destined to make history in the design world. The exchange of ideas with the inspired architect Giulio Cappellini resulted in iconic works, among which stand out the Rainbow Chair and the Pyramid chest of drawers.

The creations born from the collaboration between Metea and Cappellini exude a refined elegance that reveals their crystalline and natural soul. By combining technological experimentation with respect for craftsmanship tradition, they preserve the concept of Made in Italy in its entirety, embodying an ideal of quality and fidelity to roots.
